Tapping solutions

There are major advantages to carrying out work on process plants without halting production. IK designs, manufactures and operates tapping solutions for the modification and repair of piping and pipeline systems. Our services are executed on onshore and offshore facilities, as well as subsea.

Our experienced engineers and mechanics manage the entire process of tapping - drilling holes in pipes with internal pressure.

Our in-house resources enable us to deal with everything from initial problem-solving and design, to construction, assembly testing and operation. IK’s workshop is set up for the assembly and testing of equipment, and units can be rented.

Health, safety and environment
Understanding and managing the risk associated with working on so-called live, operational systems is important to secure success. Other success factors include a competent team, workshop testing, attending risk identification meetings, as well as a Safe Job Analysis, and a functional interface with the operator’s team in the field. 

Onshore and offshore
IK Tapping Solutions specialises in maintaining and repairing topside piping and pipelines by using tapping technology for plants in operation and production.

We have a wide range of standardised cold tools and solutions (without welding) aimed at making repair and maintenance possible while production is ongoing. Our products and services allow the intervention into piping systems to tie in new plant capacity, as well as the instalment of cold clamps without hot work (welding), etc.

IK is an expert in creating custom-built solutions to suit client-specific needs and requirements.

Subsea
Our team of subsea engineers designs bespoke custom tapping solutions and tools. Based on a defined client requirement, IK can execute the different phases of an entire project, including design, assembly, testing and operation offshore with our own operators.
